Happy New Year!

Wow! I find it truly amazing that a year has passed since we started this project. While I would have loved to have seen everyone finish the project, I am thrilled to know that there are still some of you who “struggled”, like me, to see and finish this project through. I am humbled to be part of this wonderful group. Thank you for sharing with all of us your life. In the past year, I have seen many joys and sorrows along the way. While I might not be there with you, I still feel your emotions and energy through the photos you’ve shared.

Amazing as the experience was, here are even more amazing facts based on our first year of this project.

38,218 views all-time
1,101 views on January 3rd (the site’s busiest day)
January was our busiest month with 17,740 visits to the site

So as we look forward to this new year, let us not forget the blessings we’ve received in the past year. This coming year will be a year of new beginnings, a year full of hope and challenges. I look forward to experience these with you through your photos. Once again, I would like to thank all of you who had seen the project through.

You are truly an inspiration.

365|365: Dragon

So here I am on the last day of this challenge. It’s been a wonderful year filled with both laughter and tears. It’s amazing though, looking back at all of my images and remembering exactly what had happened that day, where I was, and what I was doing at the time. So here’s to the coming year that’s full of promise and hope. My last image for this year is a symbol. Next year is a Dragon year and Melissa and I are eagerly anticipating the arrival of our little bundle of joy. We’re over the moon by the thought of a little one joining us next year – the year of the Dragon.

To all of my friends and family, may this coming year bring forth happiness and hope for everything that is good in this life.

For the final photo of 2011 I chose one of my 3 year old trying to get his blowout to make noise. Everyday we seek to balance the delicateness of life, of time, and the stuff we fill our time with, be it family, work, play, a combination of all these things. I am constantly looking for balance.

There is sadness and gladness in life.

Raising sons is a noisy experience, but there is also energy and joy in their noise. As we send off 2011 we make noise to ward off “bad spirits” and “bad luck” and welcome with joyful noise a new year.

To each of you reading this, I wish you energy and tranquility, peace and challenge, rest and activity, stability and “growing pains”, tears and laughter…I wish you a very full human experience.
