A few weeks ago, the industry just made a move in the right direction – no Photoshop in ANY cosmetic advertising.
The reason for the ban results from a Cover Girl ad that “photoshopped”a model’s eyelashes to enhance the effect of mascara. Of course, the fine print in the ad did say that the ad was manipulated, but the National Advertising Division (NAD) is saying that is not enough.
This commercial isn’t real and so are industry standards. (Jesse Rosten)
