- Avoid using sleeveless shirts for headshots, they can make the arms look big and skin below the face takes the attention away from the face.
- No solid white.
- Wear solids and stay away from patterns, stripes, and busy prints. If you the subjects forgets this, make sure you let them put a solid jacket on to minimize the “busy” look.
- If you’re planning of getting a haircut, don’t do it the day before. Give your hair “time to grow”. One week prior to the shoot is best.
- Avoid wearing oversized earrings. Small studs or solitaires are the best. It doesn’t take away from the face. It’s always good to remember to keep jewelry at a minimum. Don’t over-do it!
- For women, try to avoid low cut tops.
