After the candles are extinguished, the carolers have gone, the food consumed, the laughter of friends and family have subsided, I reflect back on the true meaning of Christmas. At Christmas time, there are many things for one to enjoy and be thankful for.
I am thankful for my family who had stood by my side my entire life. To my Dad who had shown me the true meaning of what a father should be. I see him with my nieces and nephew and I see patience and compassion. To my Mom who has been a great pillar of strength and joy for my sisters and me. Thank you for teaching me how I should love my work and be passionate about it. To my sisters for all of their support and trust in everything I do. Thank you for your patience and trust. To my Corinna, Isabel, and Jacob. You bring joy to all of us with your laughter, inquisitiveness and passion for life. I see myself in your eyes and I always look forward to spending my time with you. It is because of all of you that I look forward to having children of my own. To my new family near and far, thank you for accepting me for who I am and for who I will be. To my loving wife Melissa whom I live my dream with everyday. Thank you for being there by my side with full hope and confidence as we build our “nest” each day. I look forward to many days ahead of us full of adventure and new stories to tell. And finally, thank you Father for all the blessings you have bestowed in all of us. Thank you for your continued guidance as we live our lives according to Your word. Please continue to watch over us and help us in our daily lives.
So from my family to yours, have a safe and Happy Holidays and here’s to a bigger and better 2010 ahead of us.
Rikki
